SUIDANI TO CREATE A POLITICAL PARTY – Solomon Star News

SOLOMON Islands for Peace and Development (SIPD) is a political party which the Premier of Malaita Province, Daniel Suidani, has proposed to establish in view of the upcoming national general elections.

Speaking during his recent visit to the southern region of Malaita province, Mr Suidani said that this political party is not restricted to Malaita province only, but to the Solomon Islands.

Mr. Suidani said that this political party will address all the issues left untouched over the past decades, such as the Townsville Peace Accord, state government, the scrapping of the MPs Constituency Development Fund, the tabling of the Truth and Reconciliation report, land issues and many more. unresolved issues affecting the country.

He said this party would also discourage independent candidates from running in national elections.

He said the background work on this new political party has started with public consultations to get people’s opinion on the proposed political party.

The new political party is expected to be launched before the 2023 national general election with Mr. Suidani as president.

It is expected that this new political party will be discussed at a one-day meeting for Malaita leaders to be convened shortly in Auki by the MARA government.
