GUJRAT: The younger brother of PML-Q chairman Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, on Friday announced the launch of a new political party in the country.

Explaining the reasons behind his decision, Chaudhry Wajahat said, “Tariq Bashir Cheema divided our family while Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was taken hostage by his sons.

He alleged that Shujaat’s son Chaudhry Salik Hussain was seeking dollars from PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, adding that Salik had nothing to do with Gujrat politics.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain is the father of provocative PML-Q MP Chaudhry Hussain Elahi.

On June 8, Chaudhry Hussain Elahi announced his separation from PML-Q.

“I have always said my country is first for me and with that in mind I have decided that my political journey with PML-Q must come to an end,” Hussain tweeted.

He added that he could not belong to a party that supports the “imported government” led by Shehbaz Sharif.

The PML-Q is divided into Shujaat and Pervez Elahi groups. One group supports the coalition government in the Center while the group led by Elahi is with the PTI.
