Political strategies

Independent Asian states should create their own strategies to overcome obstacles: Raisi

TEHRAN – Collaboration is essential in the “new Asia” in order to build an endogenous model to overcome security, economic and cyber threats, suggests Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

Raisi made the comments in a speech at the sixth Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held Thursday in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The President stressed, “The Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly be a steadfast partner in continuing to pursue and strengthen multilateralism based on justice”, stressing that today the world needs a more than ever role more effective regional mechanisms to create more opportunities for the objective interaction of international actors and the peaceful resolution of regional and global issues.

Declaring that CICA member countries can use current techniques to increase peace and security based on diplomacy and engagement building on their deep-rooted civilizational foundations.

President Raisi’s speech is as follows:

“I hope that by making CICA a regional organization, the growth process of this valuable cooperation structure will continue to acquire an effective position at the regional and international level.

The process of transformation and transition of the international system has reached a certain stage. In the new redistribution of power, hegemonic approaches are rejected and the voice and role of independent countries are more heard and observed. This transformation and this transition needs to be guided and directed so as not to be trapped by the consequences of the old international systems. The cultural and spiritual capital that forms the common values of the ancient Asian continent guarantees order and a world that rejects and deals with oppression, injustice and unilateralism. The key to ensuring the success of this process is the cooperation and coordination of independent countries.

Having a civilizational history and cultural richness, the Islamic Republic of Iran has built its foreign policy on the basis of divine-human transcendental concepts of justice, spirituality, rationality, morality, freedom and independence, which in together they guarantee the well-being and dignity of nations, and its manifestations can be seen in the successful fight against terrorism, extremism, the continued aid to Afghan refugees and immigrants, the defense of the oppressed nations of Palestine in Yemen, support for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries, including in Iraq and Syria, confrontation with unilateralism and domination in all its forms, and assistance to neighbors in difficult times ; This path of authority has always followed the main path, which is the general progress of Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers itself committed to this path and, in order to achieve a just order based on cooperation and mutual respect, it emphasizes the neighborhood policy, multilateralism and sustainable convergence and, in this regard, especially given its capabilities in terms of geopolitics, energy, transport and talented human resources are ready to play an active and constructive role in the formation and strengthening of regional organizations as well as in to oppose policies of power monopoly and unilateralism.

Security and cooperation are closely linked, which mutually brings national prosperity and regional development. The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in securing the common interests of independent countries through cooperation and will pursue this strategy regardless of developments in the international situation. This approach will increase the cooperation of governments, the well-being of nations and the strengthening of regional confidence. On the other hand, unilateralism, by trying to destabilize countries, seeks to hinder their progress and thwart the processes of convergence of independent nations. This important issue shows that convergence and security in Asia are not compatible with the interests of hegemonic countries, and any attempt to destabilize independent nations has objectives and consequences beyond national geography, and in fact it aims at the stability and prosperity of the countries of the Region.

The historical experience of the Iranian nation, particularly over the past four decades, has provided us with a valuable understanding of the requirements for achieving security and progress at the same time, which I now share with you. The Iranian nation, which has chosen the path of independence and progress, has faced opposition from the powerful, a clear example of which was the coup and the embargo even in the era before the revolution. Islamic. With the victory of the Islamic revolution, the will of the international tyrants led by America is to oppose the will of the Iranian nation and challenge its rights and interests. Throughout this period, the Iranian nation has always faced various threats such as war, sanctions, assassinations, coup attempts, the arming of Saddam with chemical weapons by Europe and America to massacre its compatriots, and finally the rupture of the pact and the rupture of the alliance. We have come to believe that the path to the independence and prosperity of the Iranian nation is possible through “all-out power” and this is only possible by relying on God, relying on the people and cooperating with friends. The Iranian nation invalidated the American military option and, as they themselves admitted, made the policy of sanctions and maximum pressure a humiliating failure. Today, following the failure of American militarization and sanctions, Washington and its allies have resorted to the failed policy of destabilization. What has caused the success of the Iranian nation and terrified the rulers is the Iranian nation’s focus on progress based on its “inner strength”. Therefore, in the process of simultaneously ensuring security and progress, priority must be given to “endogenous power” and its reinforcing mechanisms.

Considering that Asia is at the heart of emerging global changes, maintaining and strengthening peace in this vast area is not a choice but a necessity. CICA and its guiding spirit, i.e. mutual trust, common interests, equality, consultation, respect for cultural diversity, emphasis on the need to achieve security and development common ground for all, is an effective mechanism that has an irreplaceable role in realizing and enhancing peace and security and promoting sustainable development for Asian nations, and it will be a valuable asset for future generations.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that, of course, countries that themselves breed terrorism should not set the rules and regulations of the fight against terrorism. The tyrants who have held the global financial system hostage and are engaged in plundering the wealth of nations cannot be a reliable partner in shaping the emerging order.

The new Asia of the emerging world needs cooperation to design an endogenous model allowing independent countries to face security, economic, media and cybernetic challenges. This issue is particularly important in the creation of a common financial system and the use of regional currencies, the design of norms and rules for the fight against terrorism, as well as the strengthening of media cooperation.

The United States and the Zionist regime have caused insecurity, violence, terrorism, war and anxiety in the region through aggression, occupation, apartheid, oppression and the killing of children and civilians in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Afghanistan. Now there is no other way but to end the occupation and submit to the vote and the right of nations to determine their own destiny.

In Afghanistan, overcoming the vicious cycle of insecurity and instability requires serious determination and concrete action through political dialogues, the objective of which is to form an inclusive government with the participation of all ethnic groups and religions of the country and to implement international commitments, in particular bilateral commitments with neighbours.

On the other hand, the decisive defeat of the Takfiri terrorists and the end of their rule in Syria has led to their deliberate migration to the East, which threatens the security of various regions, including Central Asia. Just as the expansion of terrorism in any region undermines the security of that region, the expansion of NATO, under whatever guise, threatens the stability and security of the regions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns and combats terrorism in all its forms, including economic terrorism which aims to halt the economic growth and development of independent countries. Economic terrorism is a universal threat that requires continued cooperation and a collective response.

Today more than ever, the world needs a more effective role of regional mechanisms to create more opportunities for objective interaction of international actors and peaceful resolution of regional and global issues.

We believe that CICA Member States, drawing on their deep-rooted civilizational background, can base existing methods for the expansion of peace and security on the basis of diplomacy and interaction all azimuths based on justice and spirituality.

Certainly, the Islamic Republic of Iran will always be a stable partner in the continued pursuit and strengthening of justice-based multilateralism.

I would like to thank once again the honorable President of Kazakhstan for his good and dignified reception and I wish happiness and well-being to the government and people of this country.
