My name is Ike Perkins and I am pastor of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. My reason for writing is that I feel compelled to share my spiritual concerns. This article is not intended to offend, criticize or blame anyone.
I’m just saying, I think our society has gone politically crazy. What I mean is that we believe that our global problems can be solved by a political party. This world does not revolve around a political party or a human being.
It seems like the world is in a trance of them and controls their every thought, every move they make. The more power I get, the more authority I have in my community, my church, my family, my workplace will consider me an important person.
The conversation at dinner tables, in the car at church, after church, at restaurant tables, etc., is no longer about the love of Jesus or the scripture of Sunday service, or let’s help that homeless person , or God forbid, to help someone out of your race.
Have we forgotten that every breath we breathe comes from the Lord? Everything you and I have is due to Jesus. There is no “self-made man”; Almighty God created man in his image. Whatever you are, whatever you have, is thanks to the grace and mercy of God and not to a political party.
Our rebound is not in a political party, Fox News or CNN; there is only one way. These battles are not ours.
2 Chronicles 20:15, “And he said, Hear, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem
and thou, king Jehoshaphat, thus saith the lord unto thee, be not dismayed nor dismayed because of his great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
Society blames each other. We are a divided people, and Satan is right in the middle, doing what he does best: kill, steal and destroy. Now is the time to take back what Satan has stolen from us, our dignity, our self-respect and our joy. As a blessed people, we can no longer allow the enemy to continue destroying what God has given us. We no longer need to trust a human to deliver what God can do.
2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.
Lenoir, please don’t let Satan destroy what God has created in you.
